Daily Living Skills
The following is a worksheet with considerations you may wish to discuss with your caregiver.
Specify type and degree of assistance needed in each area:
- Eating: Right-handed? Left-handed? Be alert to swallowing problems or choking.
- Bathing: Prefers Tub? Shower? Other?
Always check water temperature. If assistance with bathing is needed, never leave a family member unattended in the tub.
Specify usual frequency and time for baths and shampoo:
- Dressing:
- Toilet and related hygiene:
- Grooming (hair, care of teeth, etc.):
- Bedtime: Make sure your family member is resting in a comfortable and safe position.
- Communication skills:
- Ambulation:
- Other:
